For questions or support, please email psfc4p.mobilize@proton.me or text us at (929) 209-4763 before or during the meeting. Before is better!
To participate in the General Meeting, you must register. If you have not yet registered, REGISTER NOW. Click the link to log in to your Member Services account and click "Register". At this time, in-person registration is full, so select virtual registration.
If the link does not work, you can find the registration page by logging into the Member Services account and navigating to Virtual Office > GM Signup.
You should receive an immediate confirmation on your screen and via email. If you do not receive confirmation, there is a problem. Contact the Coop office 718.622.0560 or visit the office in-person at the Coop.
Registration will close at 5:00pm on May 26.
It is also extremely helpful if you RSVP WITH US to let us know you are coming! Otherwise we may continue bothering you to come.
Arrive at the Picnic House in Prospect Park on Tuesday, May 26 by 6:30pm to ensure you are admitted before the meeting starts at 7:00pm. Bring your coop ID or your virtual/phone version of it. You'll be checked in at the door. Only Coop members registered for in-person attendance will be admitted, no exceptions. Find a seat; the meeting will be a better experience if you sit with friends or people you'd like to chat with before the meeting starts. Bring food and water as the meeting can last until 9:00pm.
If you are attending via Zoom, you should INSTALL ZOOM ON YOUR COMPUTER OR PHONE BEFORE THE MEETING.
After installation, you should log in or create an account. YOUR ZOOM ACCOUNT EMAIL MUST MATCH YOUR COOP EMAIL. If you are logged into a different Zoom account you will not be able to get into the meeting. (Help page for switching Zoom accounts)
If you have not yet participated in a Coop Zoom meeting, please take time in advance to review the above instructions. If this seems confusing or overwhelming, we can offer you tech support. Please email psfc4p.mobilize@proton.me or text us at (929) 209-4763
The Coop has a useful guide on how to participate in General Meetings. Please reference this guide first if you have any issues as it may contain the answer.
You will be automatically muted upon entering the meeting. You can request to speak by using the "Raise Hand" feature. After being called upon, you can unmute yourself immediately to speak.
Technical support is available from Coop moderators. You can click "Chat" in the toolbar, then "New chat" and message "tech support" for questions.
Virtual attendees will vote using a Zoom poll that will appear in a separate window on your screen. In-person attendees will vote using paper ballots. There may be a delay in announcing the results as ballots are being tabulated and verified.
We are bringing two proposals to the meeting back-to-back.
We expect pro-Israel and anti-boycott members, including the General Coordinators, to attempt a last-minute "hostile amendment" to block, delay, or dilute the boycott.
Before the final vote on any proposal, members can initiate a "hostile amendment" to override the proposers. After the amendment is proposed, a simple majority vote will be called on the amendment itself. If the simple majority carries, the amended proposal is brought to a final vote and the original proposal is discarded. We must vote down all amendments to prevent this from happening!
Our simple majority proposal will restore equal weight for all membership votes on boycotts. We reject any alterations, such as a "compromise" amendment that would establish a hypothetical 60% threshold for boycotts, that would continue to entrench the pro-Israel perspective at the Coop.
Our boycott proposal has been carefully researched and crafted in solidarity with the Palestinian-led Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions movement and avoids violating the Thawabet (the Palestinian "red lines" or national consensus). It should not be amended for any reason.
We are asking all members to vote against ALL amendments, including a potential amendment to change our proposals to a referendum (more information forthcoming on this topic soon).
All last-minute amendments are bad-faith attempts to prevent, delay, or dilute the boycott -- no exceptions!
We expect pro-Israel and anti-boycott members, including possibly the General Coordinators, to attempt a parliamentary motion to table or postpone our proposals or even adjourn the General Meeting itself.
If such a vote is called, vote NO! Otherwise our proposals may be shut down or the meeting cancelled after two and half years of fighting for this campaign.
